INGREDIENTS

For the cake

  • 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 and 1/2 cups (300 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 and 3/4 cups (360 g) cake flour
  • 2 and 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk, room temperature
  • For the frosting
  • 1 and 1/2 cups (340 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 5 and 1/2 cups (660 g) confectioners’ sugar, sifted
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons heavy cream, room temperature
